Cable Screen
Vertical Cable Screen
The DCV bar screen is a mechanical fully automatic screen used for liquid / solid separation in the pretreatment
stage of waste-water treatment plants, pumping station …
This vertical screen is operated by a cable driven by one gearmotor.
The automatic screen starts and stops according to the effluent upstream level (level sensor) or by timer clock.
In the stop position (upper position of the rake), the cable is tensioned and perfectly vertical – 0° deflexion angle. When starting, the rake leaves its upper position to move downwards to the bottom of the screen. The cables unrolls from the drums. The rake is fixed to a rake holding system which is guided on both sides by U shape stainless steel profiles. Four HDPE blocks fixed to the rake holder guarantee the perfect and parallel movement of the rake inside the guiding profiles.
The rake is fixed to the holder by means of self lubricating rings. The sides of the rake are made of 20 mm thick stainless steel plates to use the weight of the rake to help the downwards movement. Two lateral HDPE covered rollers also guide the rake inside the rails.
When reaching the bottom of the channel, the rake is stops. The contact with the bottom rake shall plate is by means of a special shape rubber seal inserted in the rake to avoid excessive wear and noise. The cable drive motor continues to unroll the cables until cable gets slack When the slack detection device is actuated (inductive sensor), cable drive motor direction is inverted in order to lift back the rake. The rake pivots and moves in between the bars of the screen.
• Rake & cables driven screen

• Maximum depth of channel = 30 000 mm
• Heavy duty – stronger design
Stainless steel frame :
The bar screen DCV is built with stainless steel AISI 304L (all the bolts, nuts and other attachment units are out of stainless steel). The preference for stainless steel is motivated by the increase of the machine life duration it allows, and by its resistance against the H2S exhalations coming from the sludge (quality STAINLESS STEEL 304 – Z 3 CN 19-11). The structure in welded aeromechanic is cleaned and passivated. The structure has been designed to facilitate the access to the mechanical parts, the supervision of the thickening process, the maintenance, the cleaning and the possible replacement of the filtering belt. Let us remind you that according to the implantation on the site, a maintenance foot bridge will have to be setup, to make an easy access and control for the operator.
Waste discharge Screenings are scraped by the rake by the ejecting device. The scraped waste pours on an oblique sheetsteel and this waste is stored in a tub or taken back by an adapted conveying system. One compacting or conveying screw can be supplied.
