ADJUSTABLE WEIRS
Application
KWT weirs are available in various forms and are mainly used in surface and process water systems. The KKS tilting weir provides a very accurate means of controlling water levels upstream.
Operation
The tilting weir can be supplied in various sizes and types for water level maintenance and flood alleviation. The weirs can be manually or electrically operated, and can also be supplied with Solar Power Supply systems- the largest solar powered tilting weir in Europe was supplied and installed by KWT and KWTronic. The KWT KKS tilting weir is manufactured using stainless steel and HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and is for more demanding applications. Even movement of the side cheeks is guaranteed due to the drive being transmitted to both sides, allowing very fine adjustment, whether controlled locally or remotely using a telemetry system. The tilting weir can be fitted to various types of structure, whether it is a concrete structure, steel or timber sheet piles or pre-cast head-walls. The interface between the weir and wall is sealed using sealing.
